What is Meta Description and why is it used?

Meta Description is a snippet of up to 320 characters, a tag in HTML that summarises page's content. A meta description is used for describing our blog. How To Add Meta Description to Blogger Blog?

If you enable meta description then search description will also be enabled in Blogger's text editor area, where you can write about your post which will be shown on the Search engine. Follow the below steps to add meta description to blogger blog:

Sign in to your blogger account with your Gmail address and password.

After sign in, click on the Setting tab beside blogger dashboard and then click on the Search Preferences option.

After that, click on the Edit option in front of Description in Meta tag areas

After adding meta description on your blog, wait for few days and then search your blog on Google or other search engines and you can see your meta description in the search engine.

How To Set Search Description in every post individually?

Now you can set search description in every post individually by creating a new post. In the right side of text editor area, you can see an option Search Description. In this option, you can write a description of your blog post.

Create a new post and then click on the Search Description beside text editor area and write the description about your blog post in this field and then click on the Done option and then publish your blog posts.
